Guava leaves, along with the pulp and seeds, are used to treat certain respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders, and to increase platelets in patients suffering from dengue fever. Guava leaves exhibit potent medicinal properties, including anticancer effects attributed to triterpenoids and flavonoids, inhibiting various cancer cell lines. They also demonstrate antidiabetic activity through flavonoids and polysaccharides, improving pancreatic function and reducing postprandial glucose absorption. With strong antioxidant capabilities, guava leaves protect against oxidative stress and free radicals. Additionally, their antimicrobial and antidiarrheal properties make guava leaves a versatile natural remedy with potential health benefits.
