Phaleriamacrocarpa is commonly known as mahkotadewa. It is considered as a medicinal plant and is native to Indonesia and Malaysia. It has a stalk, leaves, flowers, and fruits, making it a full-grown tree. Its height ranges from 1 m to 18 m with greenish bark and white wood. Fruit is in the shape of an eclipse and has a 3 cm diameter. Fruits start as green and turn red as they ripen.
Medicinal properties
The pharmacological effects include anti-tumor, anti-hyperglycemia, anti-inflammation, anti-diarrheal, vasodilator, anti-oxidant, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal. Its leaves include ingredients that treat impotence, blood disorders, allergies, diabetes mellitus, and tumours. Its stem is used to treat bone cancer, while the egg shells of the seeds are used to treat breast cancer, cervix cancer, lung diseases, liver diseases, and heart problems.
