The plant Baccaureacourtallensis is a flowering plant. It is a common evergreen tree in the western ghats. It is a near threatened species according to IUCN. It is a medium size tree up to 10-18m tall with simple, alternate leaves. The flowers are scarlet in colour and dioecious. Bark is grey and generally smooth or scaly.
Medicinal properties
It is typically used to treat diarrhea , skin infections, piles, mouth and stomach ulcers, as well as diabetes and dysentery . It is a natural source of antioxidants, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-hyperlipidemia agents.
