They also received “RSNA travel sponsorshipaward of 1500 dollars” for quiz prize.

Dr. Ajay Alex, Senior Resident, Department of IS&IR has been awarded First Prize in Scientific Poster Presentation titled “Role of Cardiac MRI in Endomyocardial Fibrosis” during the Annual Conference of Indian Association of Cardiac Imaging held on 5th to 7th October 2018.
Dr. Ajay Prasad Hrishi, Assistant Professor, Neuroanesthesia Division, received the prestigious “KPR Young Anesthesiologist Award” instituted by the Indian Society of Anesthesiologists for the year 2018.

Mr. Nishad K V, Division of Tissue Engineering and Regeneration Technologies, Dept of Applied Biology has bagged Best Poster prize(Ceramics category) for his poster entitled “Calcium-Strontium-Silicate Composite Cement For Endodontic Repair – Design And In Vitro Studies” at the International Conference on BioMaterials, BioEngineering and BioTheranostics (BIOMET -2018) held at Vellore Institute of Technology during 26-28th July 2018, jointly organized by VIT, Vellore, STERMI and SBAOI. The prize, sponsored by “Biomaterials Science” journal, is a free personal subscription of the journal for one year.
Ms Amrita Natrajan, Division of Tissue Engineering and Regeneration Technologies, Dept of Applied Biology has been awarded Best Poster prize for her poster entitled “Osteochondro Mimetic Gradient 3D Printed Based Constructs For Enhancing Tissue Regeneration” in the Session on “3D printing” at the International conference on BioMaterials, BioEngineering & and Bio Theranostics , BIOMET -2018 at Vellore institute of Technology from 26th to 28th July organized by CBCMT, VIT, Vellore in association with STERMI and SBAOI. Her prize was sponsored by the journal “Biomaterials Science” and included a free personal subscription of Biomaterials Science for one year.

Smt. Padmaja Devi S S, Dy.Nursing Superintendent has been received the “National Florence Nightingale Awards-2018” on May 12th 2018 at Rastrapathy Bhavan for the meritorious service in Nursing.
Dr. Virender Malik, Senior Resident, DM Neuroradiology has been awarded the First Prize for poster presentation titled “The diagnostic utility of integration of dynamic contrast enhanced and dynamic susceptibility contrast MR perfusion protocols in grading and biological behaviour characterisation of brain tumors” at the 10th annual conference of the Indian society of Neuro-oncology (ISNOCON 2018) held at AIIMS, New Delhi from 5th to 8th April 2018.

Rekha, Division of Biosurface Technology, Department of Biomaterials Science & Technology has won the best oral presentation award in the Annual Meeting of the Materials Research Society of India held at IISER, Thiruvananthapuram on 24th March 2018.
Dr. Sapna Erat Sreedharan, Associate Professor, Neurology Department has been awarded the Third Prize for best poster presentation titled “Malignant middle cerebral artery stroke management in developing world outcome predictors” at the 12th Indian National Stroke Conference 2018 held in New Delhi from 16th to 18th March 2018.
Dr. Arun K, Welcome DBT Fellow in the Stroke Program has been awarded the Second Prize for best oral paper presentation titled “Prevalence of aortic plaques in crytogenic ischemic stroke and predictors of outcome” at the 12th Indian National Stroke Conference 2018 held in New Delhi from 16th to 18th March 2018.
Dr. Lizymol P.P., Scientist E, Division of Dental Products, Department of Biomaterials Science and Technology, BMT Wing, SCTIMST has been conferred with the "Nari Sakthi Puraskar 2017". The award was presented by His Excellency Shri.Ram Nath Kovind, Hon’ble President of India in a ceremony held at Durbar Hall, Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on 8th March, 2018 on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Mr. Amal Wilson Varghese, PhD student, Division of Molecular Medicine received the best poster award for his poster titled, ""Monoaminergic molecular pathways in development of composite behaviours" in the 2nd Indian C.elegans meeting held at the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, India.

Sandhyamani, TR Kapilamoorthy, M. Unnikrishnan, B. Dharan, presented during the Best Poster Award Session of Indian Pathologists' annual conference, APCON 2017, held at Bhopal in December '17.

Ms. Manju Mohan P and Vipina V P, Speech Therapist A, Speech Pathology & Audiology Unit, received First Prize in oral presentation entitled, appraisal on the speech, language, cognitive and neuroimaging correlates of Primary Progressive Apraxia of Speech”, at the 10th Kerala State Branch – Indian Speech and Hearing Association Conference held at Kollam on 13th and 14th January 2018.
Dr Adhithyan Rajendran, DM Senior resident, department of Imaging Sciences and Interventional Radiology, attended the Radiological society of North America (RSNA) conference held at Chicago, USA on November 26th to December 1st, attended by over 55,000 delegates. He was awarded with prestigious “CUM LAUDE” award at RSNA conference for the exhibit- “Dedicated 3D high resolution 3T vessel wall MR imaging for cerebrovascular disorders”. He also received “RSNA travel fellowship award for top-rated papers”, for the paper presented- “Volumetric T2 MR imaging versus conventional T2 MRIin spinal vascular malformations”.
Ms. Raji S R, PhD Student, Department of Biochemistry, SCTIMST,received Second Prize in oral presentation entitled “Altered cardiac autophagy and mitochondrial respiration in the offsprings of gestational diabetic rats” in the International Seminar on ‘Recent Biochemical Approaches in Therapeutics(RBAT-2018)’ held on 23rd – 25th January 2018, organized by Department of Biochemistry, University of Kerala and SBC(I), Kerala Chapter.

Ms.Sona Charles, UDC, Stores, BMT Wing,received First Prize in oral presentation entitled “Network Based Decoding of Long Noncoding RNA-Disease Association Modules in Cardiovascular Diseases” at the International Conference on Biosciences and Bioinformatics-2017 conducted by Bharthiyar University, Coimbatore held during 14-16th December, 2017.
Prof. V. Raman Kutty Professor Senior Grade, SCTIMST,been elected as a Fellow of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences. This is an international body of clinicians, basic scientists and public health scientists interested in promoting cardiovascular health globally.
Dr. Easwer H.V Professor of Neurology surgery, SCTIMST, was conferred the First Dr. Ramadas Pisharody Memorial Award by the Government of Kerala for his comprehensive contributions to the organ transplant program from deceased donors of the state of Kerala at a function marking the Organ Donation Day on 27th November 2017. The award was given by the honourable Chief Minister of Kerala Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan.
