Calibration cell
Calibration Cell coordinates the calibration
and traceability requirements of the campus.
The cell carries out these activities using
its in house capabilities and where ever
required, coordinates with the external
agencies to meet the requirements. Reference
materials are maintained by the cell for
ensuring traceability of measurement to
national / international standards.

Customer Service Cell
Customer Service Cell works in liaison with
all customers and various laboratories of
BMT Wing. This cell receives all requests
for tests. Sending of test results and processing
of complaints is also carried out by Customer
Service Cell.

Engineering Services
Functions of Engineering Service includes
providing technical support for general
maintenance of equipments and environment
at various facilities, management of utility
supply like power, water etc, and maintenance
of waste incinerator, sewage systems and
PANBIT (Gamma radiation facility with 80
Kci source) of the campus. Electrical service
maintains the 11 KV supply system and the
Diesel generator for power backup.

Library
The
library has about 9,900 books including a
good collection of
standards (including ASTM, BIS and ISO
standards on CD-ROM) and patents.
The Library subscribes to about 47 journals
and has over 5500 back
volumes. Accounts with National Institute of
Science Communication and
Information Resources, Patent Information
Centre and DELNET are
maintained for easy access to documents and
information.

Technical Co-ordination Cell
The Intellectual Property Rights related
activity; particularly on Patent and Design
registration applications are co-ordinated
by this cell. It involves patent specification
drafting and liaison between the patent
attorney/office and the inventors. In addition
to this, the cell is involved in technical
documentation work needed in the preparation
of technology transfer, know-how documents.
Tackling of the legal aspects of technology
transfer, which involves the preparation
of MOU and license agreements, are the other
activities of the cell.

Technology Transfer Cell
The technology transfer cell co-ordinates
the various activities related to the commercialisation
of the know-how and technologies developed
at the Institute and liaison between the
Institute and industry. The Technology Transfer
cell plays a lead role in the techno-commercial
activities like preparation of technology
profile and its advertisement, Identification
and selection of industrial partner, negotiations
on technology transfer terms and conditions,
post agreement monitoring.
